ManKind Project Aotearoa New Zealand (“MKP”, “we”, “us”) is a registered charitable trust (New Zealand Charities Register: CC41590). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and share it, and your rights.
Information we collect
Information you give us:
- When you use our contact form – your name, email address and message.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter – your name, email address and the topics you choose.
- When you register for a training or event – the details you provide through our registration and payment systems.
- When you sign in as a member – you authenticate through the ePIT member system; we display your member profile (such as your name, centre and training history) that ePIT holds.
Information collected automatically: if you accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymised information about how you use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser) to help us improve it. Your IP address is anonymised. We do not collect this until you consent.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the information or services you request.
- To send you newsletters and updates – only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To process training and event registrations.
- To provide member services and content.
- To understand and improve how our website is used.
- To meet our legal, financial and charitable-reporting obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are only set after you click “Accept” on our cookie notice – if you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookies” link at the bottom of the page.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to provide our services:
- Google – website analytics (Google Analytics), and email delivery (Google Workspace).
- Mailchimp (Intuit) – to manage newsletter subscriptions and send updates.
- ePIT – the ManKind Project member and registration system used for sign-in and event registration.
- Our website host – to operate and secure the site.
Some of these providers store information on servers outside New Zealand (for example, in the United States). Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled with protections comparable to those under New Zealand law. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it. You can also withdraw your consent to analytics, or unsubscribe from our newsletter, at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
